My Horses
LOGAN: Logan is my first pony, and a real character. He loves jumping, has two speeds fast and faster, and as the elder of the team is the boss in the field.
Logan is a complex little character and has never been a straightforward ride. I have learned a lot with Logan over the years and I wouldn't be without him. When in work, he enjoyed hacking, beach rides and cross country schooling, now in retirement he still keeps Minty on his toes.
HILLGARTH RED RAY: We didn't go looking for Alfie, Alfie found us! We developed our dressage careers together and not only was he a great confidence giver as we started out in dressage, but his willingness to work makes him a real favourite.
Alfie has taken me from my first Prelim to my first Medium test and has been to each Trailblazers Championship final with me from 2009 to 2014, as well as competing in BD regionals.
Alfie loves being the centre of attention and loves the atmosphere of a show!
WESTOAK WILLIS: This time I went looking for a young horse to develop, and after a careful search, quite a few miles traveled and some disappointments along the way, knew pretty much as soon as I met Willis that he was the "one".
From buying him as a 3 year old, it has been very rewarding working with him and watching him develop. He has been to the last two years Trailblazers Championship finals at Prelim and then Novice and last year we competed our first unaffilliated Elementary test. We affiliated him for the 2016 season.
With Willis on the yard you have to be alert; his special "skills" are unfastening head collars to release his friends and destroying travel boots...
KSL LONGSHOT: Abandoned with a shocking leg injury, Minty is a rescue pony. After careful nursing back to health, the signs are hopeful that he can have a fully active life. We will started mouthing him in the summer of 2015 and achieved our ambition of having him trotting down the centre line!
You can see a video here of his recuperation
With some encouraging tests at Intro and Prelim, we are affiliating Minty to BD.
October 2022, that ambition is realised at the Cavago BD Associated Championships with Minty taking the Prelim Championship!
HILLGARTH QUEEN BEA: Just joined us on 25th July 2015, Bea is a Welsh Section D mare from the Hillgarth stud and shares some blood in the sire lines with Alfie. Bea is a 5 year old, and we weren't looking for another pony but in a way she found us. She still has some learning to do and we will chart her progress in the blog and on the Facebook Page.

BURGHLEY and WHITNEY: If you see me out and about I may have Burghley with me; a rescue dog and another great friend.
Despite initially being quite boisterous when he came to us, Burghley has settled into yard life very well! Whitney joined us a little later.
